10 year old India Opal Buloni and her dad move to Niomi,Florida.Opal doesn't have alot of friends.Until she comes upon an unusal dog she claims as her own instead of letting it go to the pound. She names the dog Winn-Dixie, after the supermarket where she found him! After a while Opal makes a few new friends,and gets a new job!
